When in Missouri...

Do as the Missourians (or is it Missouri-ites?) do.

Rent really cool cars that make you look really studly while you drive them around in a town that has a lot of really big pickups with really loud mufflers...
Drive past your precious Starbucks to sample the local brew...
Sample the local brew of a whole different variety...
Try sushi for the first time. The girls and I eat sushi all the time, but Jason always refuses. I guess he finally decided that the best place to eat sushi for the first time was a land-locked state. Makes sense to me. Oh and for all you wonderers out there...there was no fish involved...he opted for the veggie roll, but I at least got some seaweed down his throat...
Go to a Japanese restaurant that cooks the food right in front of you and does cool things with fire. When we sat down the cook (who wasn't of Japanese descent...he was a local) asked if this was our first time at one of these establishments. We said "Yes" and he said "First time and you get a white guy as your chef? That's awesome!" All I know is that the food was awesome...
While your husband attends a conference drive down to Branson and attend an amazing show of Shanghai acrobats and sit behind this woman. This woman and her big ol' southern hair. This woman who apparently couldn't see so she sat on her (apparently very hard sided) big ol' black purse...making her big ol' southern hair that much bigger. Thankfully when the show started she scooted over and I could enjoy the performance hair-free...
Eat lunch at a local fixture. I have to admit I was drawn to the Steak-n-Shake for three reasons and three reasons only. #1-steak #2-shake #3-shiny lights...
Go to the number one thing to do in Springfield, MO (the Bass Pro Shop) and get your hunt on...
Get your kicks...
Hike a hike in the rolling hills...
Ford a river...
And almost get eaten alive by this guy...
Discover the fact that Missouri knew you were coming...
Finally, finally find a billboard that pertains to you (that is Jason in the picture, not me)...
Come home after a long journey to kid made signs, hugs and kisses, a clean house, and a homemade meal...
Oh and let's not forget the whole reason we went to Missouri in the first place...Jason's presentation. He did great, awesome, superb. I was so proud of him. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand and they were lapping it up like brown gravy. OK...that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but they were really listening and at the end four hands shot up for questions (which I am told wasn't the norm, because in the other sessions sometimes there were no questions). In conclusion...Springfield, MO (which by the way is the largest Springfield in the United States) exceeded our expectations and we had a great time. Thanks for the memories Missouri!

Seriously...that spider picture made my stomach turn...I'm not exaggerating! Looks like a super duper trip. I'm really surprised at all the asian influenced activities to do there! :)

OMG...that fricken spider picture makes me want to throw up! My sleeping in that city would be over! And if you threw a rock at me pretending to be a spider, I would not be as nice as Jason probably was about the whole thing!!! Looks fun! And good job jason on eating sushi!! And how funny that we TOO went to a Japanese cook right in your face restaurant on our vacation too...and guess what...our guy wasn't Japanese either...he was a gangster wannabe named Deleon from the hood with more tatoos than Angelina Jolie! The only thing missing from his completion of the look was a gold tooth! I did not take pictures of the restaurant experience, however!!!
