I don't know if you know this about me or not, but I have a bit of a reputation amongst my friends. I am a bit of a rolling stone if you will. We're not talkin' the big lips and the thin hips of one Mick Jagger. We're talkin' the kind of gal who can't stick with one hairstylist (or hairstyle/color for that matter) for long. I will try here, there and everywhere just to see what else is out there. So when I was offered three hours of pampering at the brand-spanking-new Gene Juarez Salon at our very own Kitsap Mall I jumped at the chance. I jumped all the way over to the phone to cancel a dentist appointment...for a cracked tooth! I may not be able to chew on the left side of my mouth, but by golly my skin is going to glow and my hair is going to shine. Why yes, Mr. Juarez, I will "Be Alluring"!
Let me start off by saying that this was my first facial, but let me finish with that it will not be my last. The Petite Facial by the amazing McKenzie was so relaxing and rejuvenating (the neck, arm, hand massage alone was worth the trip). Plus the room was quiet...we're talking almost sound proof. And the bed...oh the bed. I could have curled right up and stayed all day...so comfy!
Who said beauty was pretty?
The outcome of all the scrubs and serums is skin so soft and smooth and glowing. Yes, actually glowing. I have to say that my skin is almost like a baby's bum. And let the record show that this will be the only time I will be comparing my face to a bum of any kind!
Now onto the hair. The sweet Lisa's Couture Haircut will make you want to do this...
Or this...
Or perhaps just this...
Plus it is really pretty in the salon. All bright and happy and friendly...with really great music taboot...
I wasn't able to get my makeup done today, but I get to go back next week for a Makeup Application where they actually mix the makeup colors right there on the spot for you. Just seeing the lipstick wall today made me a little weak in the knees.
And now for the good stuff. The Kitsap Mall Gene Juarez Salon just had their Grand Opening on November 8th and if you are one of the first 50 guests to receive a service you will get a complimentary gift bag. Like a swag bag...oooh how celebrity! Also, if you are one of the first 150 guests to receive a service you get to draw from a grab bag loaded with prizes like gift certificates. In fact, starting now through November 19th you receive a 15% off any services. With haircuts/styling regularly starting at $40 and colors at $50 that is a pretty sweet deal. Plus (listen up Jason) Gene Juarez Salon issues gift certificates. Like to significant others (hint). Significant others looking for that perfect present (hint hint). Perhaps for a certain someone who runs the kids around, makes meal after meal, and keeps the house spic 'n span (or at least span).
Even though my "Be Alluring" beauty package was complimentary, my thoughts on the subject are totally all mine and I plan on going back again because it was utterly relaxing and fantastic! So check 'em out...I have a feeling you will not be disappointed.
And now I am off to the great state of Ohio to visit one of my most favorite people in the world...Mara!
She may not live in hustle and bustle of the Windy City anymore, but if Cincinnati was good enough for Les Nessman then it is good enough for me baby!
