I found this sweet little picture in some of Annika's school work. Yes that is chipmunk singing a Lady Gaga song. Yes my child is in the 2nd grade. Yes Lady Gaga may be a bit mature for a 2nd grader to listen to, but in defense of my parenting skills, she didn't really get the idea from Gaga herself. She got the idea from "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked". Which she saw three times. I don't know if that is a real solid defense of my parenting skills, but I do know she has some pretty solid memory recall skills. And for that I doff my hat to those annoying little rodents!
Speaking of mad skills...we are currently in Montana for the wedding of my sweet and very funny cousin Kendra to the fabulous Drew. I have been asked to do a reading from the Bible during the ceremony. I was a little surprised they didn't ask me to sing, but I guess I can wait for the reception to show off that talent. I asked Kendra if I could do some ad-libbing during my "performance" or if Jason could beat box behind my words. She suggested that perhaps Jason perform an interpretive dance to Corinthians 13:4. I am so happy I got the green light. This may just be the reading of the century! Wait, what? The ceremony is not supposed to be about me? Oh man!!!
