Flutterby...

Lena received a pack of caterpillars for her birthday. The little guys spun their webs, snuggled down into their chrysalises, endured a 1,000+ car ride for fear they might hatch without supervision, and finally were ready to spread their wings in flight. As neat as it was to see them emerge from their tightly wound cocoons, it was even neater to see the girls coax them out into the wild blue yonder. A couple were hesitant...staying close to the ground or the girls' hands, but finally they all floated off on the breeze. It was almost as if my babies were taking their first steps into adulthood...turning into beautiful butterflies. Oh wait...they were beautiful butterflies! Beautiful indeed...
