As you may recall, right before we moved we had to put our sweet Lobo to sleep due to old age. After it happened Ringo, our other dog, was like a lost little puppy. He had been with Lobo for all of his 11 years. Never apart. However, he started to snap out of it and then we moved. We noticed that it was as if he was a changed dog. He no longer was the "crazy unpredictable I might just snap at the jogger running by" guy. He was calm and good and fun to walk with on a leash. Then he stopped eating. We took him to the vet and discovered he had cancer. We had to make the hard decision to put him to sleep too. It was almost as if his disease accelerated with the loss of his alpha. Oh sigh!
Ringo was my dog. My "Let's get married and have babies! No? OK...let's get a dog instead!" dog. I loved his sausage body and his Witch Hazel legs. I loved his ear that was always up even though the other one was always down.
I loved him because he loved to eat and eat and couldn't jump very high. Maybe I loved that about him because it is a bit like me. We miss you Ringo. You were a good dog.Now I think that is about all the changes that the Lovett Family needs this year. No more...we've had enough!!!
