Run, Baby, Run...

It is that time of year again...The Viking Festival. Viking Fest is our town's annual festival...food booths, carnival, pancake breakfast, parade, fun run, and then list goes on. This year the whole Lovett Clan laced up our Norwegian sneakers and set out for the fun run. The girls and I participated in the 1 Miler and Jason conquered the 5 Miler. Now we are off to the parade and later a Red Sox game (not affiliated with the Viking Fest...though wouldn't that be nice?). Stay tuned for photos of the death defying carnival rides!!!

Ready to race. I asked for a "running pose". Lena isn't about humoring me. Annika is a wee bit more like her mama...

About a 1/2 of a mile into it...the biggest hill to climb...

As soon as they spotted the finish line they really took off (they did run the entire way). They even smoked an old guy at the end. 11 minutes 43 seconds...they tasted victory and victory tasted SWEET!!! Relaxing after the race...waitin' on Daddy...

Jason came a little quicker than I had anticipated. All of a sudden he was flying around the corner and I wasn't quite camera ready. He had one of his personal bests for that distance...finishing in 37 minutes 14 seconds. He, too, smoked an old guy at the end. Wait, wait, what is that I hear? Jason is saying something..."It wasn't an old guy! It was a white t-shirt guy!" (That blur of blue and black that you see in the center of the picture is Jason).
