Ahhhh...The Weekend...

Guess what we did this weekend. Go ahead take a guess. We stayed home!!! And guess what we learned this weekend. Go ahead take a guess. When you stay home you can really cross off items on the ol' honey do list!!! The weather was awesome and sunny and warm and we took full advantage of it. Jason is getting closer and closer to completion on our bathroom project. You may remember we started remodeling our bathroom last September. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Pretty soon Ty Pennington from "Extreme Home Makeover" is going to be outside our door with his ever present annoying blow horn bellowing "Move That Toilet Paper!". We also did some major weeding and flower planting in the front beds. For those of you who haven't ever visited Casa de Lovett, we live in a neighborhood with seven other houses...all with pretty nice lawns. Ours isn't as nice, but we don't stress too much because it isn't our priority. However, come Sunday morning I think people came out just to see what was going on, wondering "why are those Lovetts weeding...I'm confused!". We also managed to squeeze in some bike riding, lawn camping, and a cookout with good friends. Ahhh...the weekend!

I also learned that when we stay home I end up spending more money rather than less! We have been married almost 8 years and we finally took the plunge and bought real live grown up patio furniture. The back patio is open for business...
I dug into a box that my mom gave me a couple of years ago and found two dresses that used to be mine. One was a flower girl dress and the other really shows off the fabulous style that was the mid-80's. The girls love them.
We bought a new hammock last weekend. Our other one was woven and after awhile your booty sunk through the weave and scraped the ground. This is much better...I know first hand...I napped in it for almost 30 minutes today!
Jason set up the tent in the back yard for some lawn camping. The girls were very excited as they had never slept in a tent before...they are trailer girls all the way, baby. Tent sleeping = sleeping in until 8:30am...Mommy like.
We had our friends Andrea and Rookie and their two boys Treyson and Ryan over to break in the new patio. Good friends, good burgers, good marshmallows...what more could you ask for?
Andrea and I...
Kids who live in cloudy darkness for 8 months out of the year are confused and try to shield their eyes from the strange glowing ball in the sky. Don't worry...they'll get used to it by September.
The key to the perfect marshmallow is minimal clothing, really long sticks, and a really hot fire...
Again I say...Ahhhh....the weekend!!!
