Adios Kindergarten...

Today marks Lena's last day of kindergarten. One whole year of school down the drain! She had a fabulous year of making friends, learning to read, being introduced to Spanish, conquering the monkey bars, improving her writing and drawing skills, and all those other important events that go along with the first year. We all had a really positive experience with the school and are looking forward to what awaits next year. But for now...bring on the summer fun and sun!!!

The class put on a small celebration last Friday. Lena is sporting her "graduation" crown...
Singing some songs, doing some movements...
Future graduates of the class of 2021. This year it wasn't so "scary" starting kindergarten because Lena already knew four of her classmates. Below is Luke, Ryan, and Reese...three of her best little friends. Lena had gone to preschool with Luke and has known Ryan and Reese for 5 or so years.
Lena on her first day of school way back in September...
Lena and her fabulous teacher Mrs. Rinks on her (almost) last day of school. Lena has really matured over the course of the year...not only in her social skills, but physically. I see it most in her uniforms. She is wearing the same dress in both pictures. In September it was below her knees and now it is above her knees by a good inch plus. Where did our little tiny baby go?

Update: Jason and Chris did not in fact see a whale on their hike yesterday. But they did in fact see a goat and took (no lying) 26! pictures of it. Actually, Chris took the 26! pictures. At first he said Jason did because he knew "someone was going to be mocked by Stacey for taking so many pictures of a goat so I figured I would let Jason take the brunt of the mocking", but then Jason blew the whistle on him. What a friend! So stay tuned for the exciting entry of "Get Your Goat!".
