Ever so serious...
The happy little homes...
When I went to pick Annika up from school today, I heard her little friend say, "Don't forget to tell your mom." I asked Annika what she was talking about and she said, "You need to sew 3 elf costumes for my play!" This is news to me!!! Apparently Annika and two other classmates are elves in their gingerbread production next week and I have been nominated to sew the costumes. Anyone have a good pattern for elf ears?

Burr It's Cold In Here...
Can I please get a little sympathy? It is like 28 degrees here. The weatherman even said the word "dangerous" three times in his forecast last night. DANGEROUS. We aren't kidding around here, people. Sympathy? Anyone...Anyone? No? Is that because it is 30 below ZERO in Montana right now? Is that why I am not getting any sympathy. Oh OK...well can Lena and Annika get some sympathy for their frostbitten toes?
We also broke out our fancy pants and went to the Nutcracker Ballet this past weekend. There was a lot of jumping and leaping and spinning (and that was just from Jason!). I don't have any pictures of the actual ballet, but I do have some fetching shots of on the ferry and outside the auditorium...
Our fabulous local grocery store, Central Market, holds gingerbread house decorating for kids. They provide everything (for a fee) and the kids go to town. It is great...they get unlimited supplies and someone else cleans up. It is a win-win!

I am feeling sympathy for you! A whole hearted sympathy! I've considered cancelling anything that involves opening my door but have had to endure the cold. Oh, and did I mention our furnace was not working for two days? I considered driving over and crashing at your warm house yesterday. :)
your girls are just adorable!
