Winter Wonderland...

We made it to Montana. Technically, we made it to Montana a whole week ago. I have decided that train riding isn't as romantic as it seems. In reality it is sort of slow, sort of smelly (in the morning), sort of loud, sort of has small bathrooms, sort of hard to sleep semi-reclining, sort of snory, and sort of loooong. However, the girls had a great time and were perfect little travelers, so that is what really matters. We stepped off the train to ice and snow and in one day Jason, Papa, and the girls sledded, practiced skiing, and snowmobiled. It is a winter wonderland indeed. The following images document Week One of our trip...in no particular order (in fact, they are in backward order...I like to keep y'all on your toes).

Christmas Eve and all ready to open presents. The girls were just as excited to give as they were to receive which made for a very nice evening. Speaking of receiving...Jason surprised me with tickets to Bon Jovi! I am really hoping he wears a leather vest with no shirt underneath (of course I am talking about Jason, not John Bon Jovi)...
The color coordinated family...
One highlight of Week One was spending a day with Mara. As always, the girls love their Godmama. They love her so much that they will even drop down and get fab abs with her...
Storing up Mara love is ever so important...
No matter what season, it is always a good time to ride Doc...
Annika feels the need...the need for speed...
Almost to the end of the train ride... watchin' and waitin' for Nana and Papa...
The image that we woke up to on the train...Glacier National Park. The train does have neat scenery...I'll give it that...
All snuggled down ready for bed. The girls slept great...me not so much. Maybe I would have slept better if it weren't for the drunken drunkards discussing the awesome awesomeness of "Rambo" at 12:30AM. At one point one of the drunken drunkards tried to give his cell phone number to his seatmate. I was tempted to call it and tell him to shut up! Mama was about ready to throw someone from the train!
We are now in Whitefish for Week Two of our trip. Whitefish is our favorite Montana town...the place of our marriage, the place of many a favorite vacation. On Tuesday we are going to head up to the mountain and teach the girls to ski. We'll see how it goes. They are both very excited...except Lena is concerned that other kids in her class won't be wearing stocking hats under their helmets. Really? I didn't realize it was a fashion contest...perhaps, in that case, I should chuck my hot pink neck warmer I have had since I was 16!

It sounds like you guys are having a blast. Your train trip sounds awesome. Good times, Good times. We don't have a leather vest, but we do have a nice pair of pleather pants Jason is welcome to borrow! Good luck up on the slopes.
