A Fun-Filled Few Days...

Last night when Godmamma Mara called to wish Lena a happy birthday she said, "You are half way to being a teenager!" Really, Mara? Are you trying to kill me? The following are pictures from the past few days...in no particular order.

Morning birthday wishes...
Oh my...Junie B Jones books...my favorite...
Birthday kisses from our favorite fish at one of our favorite restaurants JJ's Fish House...
This crew has known each other pretty much all their lives (or all they can pretty much remember). Ryan + Treyson + Lena + Annika + Ava + Reese = sweet birthday ice cream...
Candy corn is not just for eating you know...
As the hand snaked over the voice was heard saying, "I do NOT need your help!"...
Annika loves her self some blue cotton candy. Who doesn't...
Make a wish...
For the past three years Lena has chosen Silver City Brewery for her birthday dinner. Daddy has brainwashed taught her well...
We have had some very hot days around here. You might have heard about it...it's kind of a big deal 'round these parts. This morning it was considerably cooler. Thanks a lot to all those people wishing for cooler weather...you know how you are...don't try denying it. As I walked into the living room and I found this scene. I thought how sweet. And it was sweet. As I was sitting down to write how sweet it was I heard "Don't push me!" "Get your feet away from me!" "Stop it!" At least the heat made them more subdued.
And this, my friends, is what a seven year old looks like. That can't be right. I can still remember when the doctor said, "Is it going to be a Lena or a Mason? It's a Lena!" I can still remember when Jason held her for the first time, said her name, she opened her eyes, looked right at him and he said, "She recognizes my voice." I can still remember when she would start crying and her little tiny chin would quiver and quiver. I can still remember when the doctor told us we could take her home I asked where the owners manual was. She looked at me kind of funny until she realized I was joking. I was joking, right? Well without an actual manual I think we have done a pretty darn good job because our little Lena is a wonderfully smart, caring, funny girl. If I do say so myself!
